SpaceX - Starship Mechanisms

January - June 2022
  • Collaborated with a small team tasked with the design of the Thrust Vector Control Actuators for Starship

  • Designed the hydraulic manifold subsystem for the first orbital test vehicle of Starship necessary to gimbal the Raptor engines, and had to opportunity to assist in the installation of my designs onto the vehicle in Starbase

  • Owned a subassembly of the next-generation electric TVCs that will steer future Starships and eliminate several tons of mass compared to the existing hydraulic TVCs, all while decreasing system complexity and failure points

  • Developed production tooling and processes to enable the first builds of the new electric TVCs

SpaceX - Starlink Tooling

January - May 2021
  • Collaborated with an interdisciplinary group of engineers to solve problems while working on Starlink, SpaceX’s mass-produced satellite constellation aiming to provide internet to underserved locations across the globe

  • Designed tooling, as well as a space-flown part, to aid in the production of the satellites as a member of the production mechanical design team

  • Deployed two new tooling stations of my own design, which are estimated to reduce rejected component cost by $30,000 per satellite shipset and reduce their process cycle time by 30%

  • Roughly 22% of all operational satellites in orbit were produced with my tools and carry components I designed

Fikst Product Development

January - June 2020

Due to the confidential nature of the the work I completed, I am only allowed to disclose the following which have been approved under the NDA guidelines:

  • Worked as a part of a team tasked with developing a scalable bioreactor for a large biotech company.

  • Designed prototypes of parts for the bioreactor, as well as fixturing to aid in its manufacturing/assembly.

  • Manufactured my designs utilizing the on-site CNC mills and laser cutters to rapidly iterate and revise.

  • Developed a process to manufacture a consumable reliably and reproducibly for the bioreactor using laser cutting.

Rochester Electronics

May - August 2019

From May to August 2019, I worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Rochester Electronics, a semiconductor manufacturer based in Newburyport Massachusetts. During my time there, I worked designing fixturing in solidworks that would aid in the production process. I also led the deployment of a 3D Printer into the manufacturing workflow.
